SICKPIG 〰️
Hailing from NZ, Sickpig (he/him) is a native to the land of Aoetearoa. Riding the high of a weekend at Pitch Music and Arts Festival in 2018, Sickpig purchased a controller and has been diligently practising ever since. Emerging out of the lockdowns in 2021 people were crying out for park parties and Sickpig was quick to answer the call.
Through tremendous effort and of huge expense to themselves, Sickpig and his collaborator Joel facilitated some of the most impressive raves that Naarm has ever seen—with ridiculously stacked line-ups and breathtaking art installations. Though there have been some hiccups along the road, and lessons learned the hard way, these parties have been a testament to Sickpig’s desire to create accessible spaces for the scenes beloved punters to listen to good music and have the most fun that they can.
Though Sickpig has dazzled crowds of hundreds at these park parties with highly charged breakbeat, techno, and trance, he has more recently slipped into the grooviest of grooves, playing more tech-house, and minimal house. The mixes on his Rooftop Stunmix are so seamless, like a snake slithering across a river – I implore anyone to pinpoint where one song ends and the next begins.
With big aspirations of Hor sets, Boiler Rooms, and closing festival sets Sickpig has the drive, the talent, and the generous and kind spirit to propel him to those mountain peaks.
